'i' Button
The CoolCare system features a stylish and recently redesigned ‘i’ button for clocking staff on and off duty. The main unit is usually mounted on the wall adjacent to the staff entrance where its LCD display shows the date and time along with the staff members name when logging in or out.
Each member of staff is issued with a handy key ring mounted fob that contains a unique code stored with their personnel details. To clock in or out the fob is simply presented to the main reader unit and a time recorded on the StaffTrack software for that member of staff.
One beep is heard to confirm successful operation while the LCD also displays the name of the staff member. To prevent deliberate misuse of the system the reader will beep six times if the fob has not been presented correctly.
The “I” button features a unique ‘snap to’ function that automatically allocates clocking in times to the correct contracted hours and shift pattern. Thus if a member of staff arrives at 7.30 for an 8.00 shift, the actual clocking in time will be recorded, but the payroll hours will begin from the contracted 8.00 shift start. In addition, parameters can be set for allowed lateness with payroll deductions made if these are exceeded. This also forces staff to communicate any extra hours they wish to be paid. If a valid reason is given and authorised, the home manager can add these extra hours / overtime to the system.
